While many players love a good tournament series, spare a thought for the Omaha players. No Limit Hold'em tournaments get the Lion's share of attention in any series. However, last Friday that all changed in the 2017 WSOP Sydney Circuit Event as the four card game took centre stage.

203 runners ponied up $600 each and as they tried to get their hands on a WSOP Circuit Gold Ring.

We saw plenty of big names come out for the event including Australia's first couple of Omaha, WSOP Bracelet winner and High Stakes Omaha Cash Player, Jarred Graham and his wife Connie. The man who won the $20k High Roller and the 6-Max event at the 2017 Sydney Champs, Warwick Mirzikinan, 2014 Sydney Champs $5k Challenge winner and 2016 Aussie Millions 6 Max Champion, Jarryd Godena, Former WSOP Gold Ring Winner, Michelle Psarras, 2017 Star Poker Festival $5k Challenge 3rd place finisher, Brett Murtagh and 2010 WSOP 7 Card Stud Final Table Member, Raymond Walter.

Omaha events are funny things, due to the big bet nature of Pot Limit games they can either often go very quickly. That was not the case here in the Star Poker Room, the event lasted right through the night, right into the wee hours of the morning and then from there onto the late hours of the morning. In fact, it was almost 9 am the next day when our champion was finally crowned!

That champion was Nebojsa Blanusa who took home the tile, the WSOP Gold Ring and the $31,677 that goes with it. Blanusa was in a commanding position throughout the tournament and is a deserved champion. Blanusa is no stranger to tournament success or to late finishing tournaments. He previously won the Poker Zone Cup in Adelaide and was runner-up in the Bounty Event at the 2017 Sydney Championships which continued until the sun went up just like this one!

It seems that our new WSOP Champion, Nebojsa Blanusa, is a specialist when it comes to playing all into the night. Keep an eye out for him to make another deep run as a tournament heads past the witching hour!

We had 203 entrants into this event and now there are 119 left.

I am trying to have a look at some other details to provide you but the Tournament Director currently has the payout calculator open on the screen blocking the view.

Not exactly great news for me trying to get some information but definitely good news in the fact that it means our prize pool structure will be available soon!
