The End of Day 1 is Nigh!

We are getting close to the end of Day 1 in the 2017 WSOP Monster Stack Event.
The clock is stopped with ten minutes to go and players will be asked to play just three more hands before we start bagging and tagging for the night.
It has been a shame not being able to cover this as much due to the clash with Day 2 on the Main Event The Monster Stack was such an exciting tournament last year and with 403 runners (and more importantly $403,000 in prize money up for grabs) this year's event would be just as riveting.
The Main Event is getting down to the extremely pointy end (there are currently just 36 players left) this is great because as soon as they play down to a final table tomorrow we will be able to focus exclusively on this Monster Stack tournament!
At time of writing there are currently 157 players remaining of the 403 that started. Just 45 get paid so there is plenty of poker between now and then.
The action kicks off again tomorrow at 2:15pm and we will be posting chip counts and seating allocations for Day 2 then.
Look forward to a big day of poker tomorrow as we find which of these remaining players has what it takes to be crowned a World Series of Poker Champion!

The Star Poker Live Reporting Team will be focussing on Day 2 of the Main Event at least until the registration ends in this event.
Oh sure, if we walk past a Monster Stack Table and see a hand happening or if somebody comes and tells us a hand we will write that.
However, the Main Event will be the priority for the next few hours.

The WSOP Sydney Monster tournament is underway here in the Star Poker Room!
Well that's not strictly true. It is past the advertised start time but due to the sheer number of people trying to get into the Star Poker Room at the moment between the Monster Stack and the WSOP Sydney Main Event the Tournament Directors have pushed the start of this back approximately half an hour.
The Star Poker Room is an absolute sea of activity at the moment. There is no better place to be in Sydney right now!
